Although I'm sure there are parts of the US experiencing terrible weather conditions today, I'm sat here in dreary London and... you guessed it... it's raining. In fact I can't even remember when it started raining and in all honesty I doubt it'll ever stop. But, before we all go complaining about how bad the weather is where we live and how we wish we were stranded on a desert island somewhere all of the time, we should probably take a quick look at the Xweather app, which shows you the most extreme weather conditions from around the globe.
Xweather is a new app for both the iPhone and iPad (although it obviously looks its best on the larger screen), which allows users to pan around the globe and explore extreme weather "hot spots". When you discover a hotspot you can find out more about the area, why the weather's so EXTREME, what satellites see when they look down on the area and how long the craziness is set to last.
It may only be REALLY interesting for weather and geography geeks, but the iPad's display makes the 3D images look awesome and will ensure you feel much more intellectual when you tell your friends what's going down in Tunisia this morning rather than what score you got on Angry Birds.
Available from the app store for $1.99.
